CHRISTCHURCH REGATTA CLUB. The committee of the Cbristchuroh Regatta Club met last evening, Mr F. D. Kesteven presiding. It was reported that the railway arrangements in connection with the regatta would be similar to those- of last year. The sum of £52 had' been collected for the regatta expenses and £2l was.promised. A further sum of £l2 was required. The chairman said that Lake Forsyth was very low but remarkably clean. The full course would be available.

Officials for the regatta were appointed as follows:—Starter, Mr -A. R. Craddoek; umpire, Mr N. L. Macbeth: judges, Messrs F. I. Cowlishaw anc H. 11. Smith. It was dscided that if possible horizontal arms should be affixed tp the mile and finishing posts, with flags depending from them, to facilitate the work of steering in the races.

NEW ZEALAND ROWING ASSOCIA*

TION. [Per Peeks Association.] WELLINGTON, December 22. The Council of the Now Zealand Amateur Rowing Association to-night considered a letter from tho Union in connection with the rowing carnival at Hobart from February 18 to March 4. The prizes for the interstate fours are £25 shield and five gold medals. It was explained that Tasmania had previously guaranteed £4O towards the expenses of a New Zealand crew. The Council decided to mak«" up the balance required. If the Coun< cil is satisfied that it is tho best crew, the crew that wins at the championwhip regatta at Picton next month will be sent' to Tasmania. The Canterbury Association asked whether B. Howard, who had competed with a lifeboat wow, was still entitled to row as an amateur. It was decided that he is. J. M. Mackson was suspended MM luting his amateur statu*. £m
