The following are the fixtures for today :—Trades and Labour Picnic at Wainoni Park ; Now Brighton Trotting Club's Races at Addington; Band Contest at Kaiapoi; Garden Fete at Deans's Estate, Riocarton, 2 p.m.; Military Tournament at Timaru; Military Motor Manoeuvres, leaving King Edward Barracks at 8 a.m. : Opening of St Luke's Church at 3 p.m. ; Opening of Boating Season, 2.30 p.m. ; Athletic Sports at Hawardcn and Chortsey. 1 11 the evening there will bo Mr John Foster Fraser's lecture at the Theatre Royal, and the C-arrick Juvenile Opera. Company will produce " Her Guardian Angel "at the Opera House. The picture companies at the Colosseum and His Majesty's Theatre will give matinees in addition to the evening performances. .
