THE UNEMPLOYED.
THE FIFTY WORKMEN. TWO VACANCIES FILLED. Yesterday morning Mr W. H. Hagger succeeded in filling the two vacancies in the batch of fifty workmen for the Midland railway works,' and tho two men will be sent to Broken River this morning. It was assumed, Mr Hagger told a reporter, that tho two men who did not present themselves at the station on Tuesday morning either had obtained other work or had changed their minds about going, and therefore tho two men would bo sent to Broken River immediately. There had been five or six applicants over th© required number. Tho two men selected to fill the vacancies were both married, and they brought the number of married men sent up to eighteen.
