THE RAMABAI MISSION.

- ; :. : . ~-.; SALE OF WORK. A sale of Indian and Oriental goods was opened in the Alexandra Hall last evening, in aid of Paudita Ramabai's mission to Hindoo women and children. There was a large attendance, and the sale was declared open by Mrs Cracroft Wilson. The hall has been fitted up with stands and stalls, aiid is gay with bright cloths and sparkling beads and glassware. All kinds of Oriental goods tiro on sale, laces, jewellery, silks and fancy goods of Persian, Chinese, Japanese ami Hindoo manufacture being displayed. Brisk business was done during the evening, and the takings wore substantial. The following is a list of stalls and attendants :—lndian goods, Mrs Callendcr, Misses Swan, Hyndman, Pavitt (2) and Treleaven; lace, Mrs Roxburgh and Miss Orrj Japanese ware, Misses Muunings; fancy goods, post cards, etc., Masters Johnson and Stubbs; white sewn work/ Mrs Chapman and Miss Scott; sweets, Miss M'Kee and pupils of the Avonside Ladies' College; blouses and silks, Mrs Erwin; Chinese goods, Mrs Mitchell and Misses Harband and England; Persian and Armenia n goods, Misses MacDougall, Mackay, Hopkins and Gray; jewellery and silverware, Mrs Berry and Miss Green; Indian goods, Mrs Cox and Miss Henderson; bronzes, Mrs Sinclair; flowers, Misses Kent, Erwin and Andrews; Venetian goods, Misses Wilson and Nicholls; refreshments, Mesdamcs Wilson and Shaw and Misses Shaw, King, Coe, Hall and Gillanders. The sale will be open again this afternoon and evening, and to-morrow.
