CHRISTCHURCH ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY.

Tho Christchurch Orchestral Society will give the first concert of its season in the Choral Hall this evening The programme will include the following numbers:—Overture, "Gipsy Life" (Lo Thiero); intermezzo, Cavalleria Rusticana" (Mascagni); suite, " Eufantine " (G. Lardelli) ; march, " Hongroisc" (Berlioz); minuet, " Colombine" (Dclahaye); Symphony No. 8 (Beethoven) and Prelude to Act 111. of " Lohengrin." Miss Dons M'lntyre will play the violin solo, " Romance," op. 50 (Beethoven), with orchestral accompaniment, .and Mr A. L. Cropp will contribute a couple of songs. The plan is at the Dresden.
