The Railway Department will issue holiday excursion tickets to Sheffield from fcJkristchurch, Whitecliffs and intermediate stations by morning train® on ’April 29, for the Malvern Winter Show. Examinations in the theory of music, under the auspices of the Associated Board of the Royal Academy of Musio and the Royal College of Music, will be held on June 5. Entries will close on Saturday. A complimentary farewell concert will be tendered to Miss Katie Young at His Majesty’s Theatre on Tuesday, May 18. The annual meeting of _ ratepayers of the Waipara Read district, will be held at the Board’s office, Waikari, at noon on Saturday. The annual meeting of susoribers to Herrick’s City Mission will be held at the Scottish Society’s rooms on Friday, at 8 pm. Entries for the Canterbury United] Horticultural Society’s chrysanthe- 1 mum show, which will be held at the. Alexandra Hall on May 4 and 5, will close on Saturday at 8 p.m.
