There is nothing fresh to report in regard to the Mararoa. The making of a new thrust shaft is in progress at Port Chalmers, and the engines of tho vessel are now being overhauled. The Kittawa arrived yesterday morning from southern ports, and wilt proceed to-day to Wellington and the Wost Coast.

The New Zealand Shipping Company’s •tearnor Opawa is due in. Wellington from Cardiff direct. She is to leave Wellington lor Lyttelton on April 30. The barque Cambusdoon was towed into the stream at 7.40 a.m. on Saturday, and will continue her voyage to Falmouth as soon as practicable. The New Zealand Shipping Company s s.s. lurakina arrived at Plymouth on April 23, in time lor the London wool sales. The s.e. Wakanui sailed from London on April 22 fox Wellington. The Pateena, acting as ferry-steamer from Wellington, was a couple of hours longer over the run down yesterday than was expected, owing to bad weather at Wellington. There was a fresh head wind when she left, and a heavy sea, and she lost the time in the early part of the journey. The Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Corinthio loft Wellington for London on Thursday. The wet weather of Friday and Saturday interfered greatly with shipping work at Lyttelton, and the loading and unloading operations of the vessels were a good deal delayed. The Den of Ruthven’s departure for the south had to be postponed, and the work of the Buteshire, Langton Grango and Drayton Grange was stopped. Captain Stot-t, of the Moeraki. is on holiday leave, and is being relieved by Captain Livingstone. The Maoriland Steam Ship Company’s steamer Ennerdale arrived at Wellington on Saturday morning after a passage of nearly seven days from Newcastle. The whole voyage was characterised by dirty weather, with heavy seas. She left Newcastle at noon on the previous Saturday, and by Monday was in the teeth of a heavy gale, with rain and a high beam sea. Tuesday was comparatively fine, but on Wednesday bad weather sot in again, and lasted for two whole days. The rain was torrential, and the steamer shipped seas constantly. After Thursday the weather was finer. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer-Turakina, which left Wellington on March 11, reached Plymouth on Friday after a good passage of forty-three days, in good time for the March wool sales.
