STATEMENT BY MR LLOYD GEORGE.

LONDON, April 22

Mr Lloyd George, replying to questions in the House of Commons, said that the corner in wheat was not a matter on which the Government could usefuDy legislate, but it was considering the possibility of increasing the stamp tax on trading in options. Tho wheat market is dull, and cargoes are about 3d easier. The American visible supply is 55,077,000 bushels.
