The grants for public works authorised liv the Cabinet yesterday included the following:—Wellington—Hutt road and railway improvement, £15,000; Dunedin—Mosgicl Railway duplication, £12,000; Marlon Railway Station extension,- £1250; Riversdale-Switzers £1050; Catlins-Waimahaka, £5000; Ngaliere-Bl ack b all Railway, £3300; Midland Railway, £I2BO. Votes for purchase of railway permanent, way material, £47,500; station buildings on - Kawakawa Railway, £1000; and post and telegraph material, were also approved.
