o EASTER TOURNAMENT FINAL. At the Christchurch green on Saturday the final of the Easter Rink Tournament was played between Christchurch (Ha-rdie) and Sydenham (M'Gallan). The play was very interesting, though Christchurch led all the way and won by 11 points. Harrlie. the Christohurch skip, played some very fins shots. _ Christchurch (Daniels, Dr Thomas, Davies, Bardie skip), 20; Sydenham (Hadfield, East, Young, M'Gallan skip), 9 at the twentieth head. MADDTSON TROPHY. Play for 'he trophy presented by Mr J. C. Maddison for the champion singles piayar was concluded on Saturday at the Christchurch green. Iu the first round the games were very closo. Campbell, the Ashburton representative, easily defeated Brackenndge (Sunnyside). but the contest between Woo.f (United) and Brown (Dnnsandel) was exciting, the fonner making a splendid recovery after his opponent had established a lead of 8 points. Maynard (Canterbury) found Simpson (St Albans) hard to beat right up to the last head, and the same was always in doubt. M'Gallan (Sydenham) looked to have Hayman (Kaiapoi) fairly safe at the last head, but the latter scored a splendid 3 shot and tied. in the extra head he took another point fitter some close play. The semifinals provided runaway games, and Woolf and Campbell met in the final. . The final game was a. close contest right through the Iwenty-five beads; only at one stage did more than three points separate the two players. At the twentyfourth bead Campbell was 15 to Woolf's U. and he lav 3 when Wool! played his third bowl. Woolf drove and sent tie' jack into the ditch and drove Campbell 3 jack-ball out of bounds. Campbell drew the shot with his last bowl .about seven feet from the jack, but Woolf, with a splendid shot, just beat it, leaving the game 15 all at the las„ head. The twenty-fifth head was a long one. and boih played very short. Campbell scored an easy 2 and won. First Round.. CHRISTOHURCH CLUB. La the final for the Christchurch Club's Junior Cup singles competition on Saturday W. Scrivenor defeated C. F. Money by 33 to 19. Money, the runner-up in the competition, is eighty-two years of age, and up to the thirteenth head he made a tough fight agarns,, his opponent. The members of the Eaiaooi Bowling Club closed their season on Saturday with a matca between teams selected by the president tncl the vice-presidont. the' latter side winning. The prizes for the club's singles tournament were presented to J. Parish, the winner, and E. Parnham the runner-up, and a prize for the now player who had been most successful in the competition was presented to .1. Nimmo. ■
