CURRENT NOTICES.
A monthly meeting of the St Augustine Masonic Lodge will be held in the Masonic Hall, Manchester Street, this evening, at 7.30 p.m. The St Albans Cricket Club’will hold its annual meeting in St Mary’s Schoolroom, Merivale, on Friday evening. A lecturo on modern poultry culture will be given in the Orange Hall, Kaiapoi, to-morrow evening by Mr J. B. Merrett. On Sunday afternoon the Lyttelton Marine Band, with the Christchurch bands,'will give a performance in Hagloy Park. A collection will be made in aid of the fund for paying the expenses of the Marino Band at the TTmaru contest. A concert in connection with the Ashley Masonic Lodge, arranged for Thursday evening, has been postponed on account of the death of Brother A. Ivory. The biennial election of seven ratepayers to form tiro Board of Commissioners for the Amberley Town District will bo held at Amberley on September 16. Nominations will close at noon tomorrow.
Tlie Rev H. L. F. Palmer will give an open-air address on prohibition at 8 o’clock this evening, opposite St Luke’s Schoolroom. To-morrow evening, ha will speak at 8 o’clock in the Fcndalton Church Schoolroom.
