CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER.
THE CORNISH CASE. IPer Press Association.] DUNEDIN, May 12. Since llio inquest on the body of Mrs Cornish, wife of the licensee of the Stirling Hotel, a week ago, the police have been busy making inquiries, and this afternoon Richard Cornish, husband of deceased. was arrested in Dunedin on a charge of manslaughter. The information sets out that ''Richard Cornish, of Stirling, publican, did on May 1, 1908, unlawfully kill and slay one Catherine Elizabeth Cornish, '.his wife." Accused will be brought before the- Court here to-morrow morning, and remanded to Balclutha, in the neighbourhood of which most of tho witnesses Tcsirlo. The next, sitting of the Court at Balclutha is fixed for May 20. Tt, is understood that some evidence, which waft not brought out at the inquest will be adduced at the magisterial inquiry.
