[Pes Pbess Association.] GISBORNE, February 17. -The Hon G. Fowlds will arrive overland about mid-day. In a speech at Turahara, the Minister said that a mistaken idea prevailed with regard to the instruction imparted in • Native schools, which was up to the sixth and seventh standards, whilst proficiency certificates entitled holders to the same free place in secondary education as Europeans. Among the subjects to be discussed with the Natives is the proposed erection of a cottage hostel to form the coping stone of a system of training Native nurses. v
