DESTRUCTION OF RABBITS.
THE DANYSZ EXPERIMENTS. REPORT OF AN AUSTRALIAN CONFERENCE. United Press Association—By Electrio -Lelegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, February 17. A conference of representatives of tho Commonwealth and various States appointed to report whether the Dauysz rabbit microbo is similar to a microbe found in the Australian mainlaud, and whether it is advisable to continue experiments on tho mainland with the Danysz microbo, reports that the two microbes are specifically identical. Tho conference finds that under natural conditions, tho virus does not injuriously affect animals other than rabbits, therefore 1 while there is no reason to apprehend injury to animal life in general, neither is there any Tcason to expect any effective destruction of the rabbits by the virus. It recommends that the prohibition against the importation of the Danysz microbo should be maintained.
