DOMAIN BOARD.

A meeting of the Domain Board wa* held yesterday afternoon; present— Mr H. J, Beswick (chajrman), the Hon ™ tt °, W6a and Messrs G. Payling, W. H. Cooper B. P. Manhire, S. £ Staples HG. Ell, M.P., T. H. Davey, M.P., W. Dunlop and H. P. MurrayAy nsley. A letter was received from the Christchurch Football Club, making application for a playing-ground. It was resolved to inform the club that th« ground applied for had not yet been handed over to the Board by the Exhibition authorities, and that the Board did not know when it would be handed over. The secretary was instructed to make similar replies to the .applications of the Canterbury College and Boys' High School clubs. The chairman reported that the Garden Committee had met a deputation on behalf of the Technical College, and had fixed upon a plot of ground for experimental gardens. It was near the Riecarton Road, in a comparatively neglected corner, and was an acre in extent. The committee's action was approved. The monthly financial statement showed -.—Receipts £492 12s lOd, expenditure £202 6s Id, credit balance £290 6s 9d. Mr W. H. Cooper was appointed a member of the Garden Committee.
