THE VICTORIAN RIFLE MEETING. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. ' MELBOURNE, November 23. The King's Prize was won by War-rant-officer Raven, of the British rifle team, with a score of 314 points. Sergeant Ommundsen, of the British team, was second with 309 points, and Edwards (Sydney) was third with 308 points. The championship aggregate was won by Lake, of Adelaide, who scored 579 points. Edwards (Sydney) was second with 572 points, and Ommundsen (British team) third with 571 points. (The members of the British rifle team have been shooting very well since the Empire meeting at Sydney, and at the Tasmanian rifle competitions, held a fortnight ago, they practically swept the boards. Warrantofficer Raven, who has won the King's' Prize at the Victorian meeting, was third in the contest for the King's Match at Sydney. Lake, the winner of the aggregate prize at Melbourne, is probably the best all-round marksman that Australia has produced.)

Collins 60, Corporal Webb 58, Private Saunders 52, Colour-Sergeant Radburnd 52, Private Sim 52, Private R. Gillespie 49, Corporal G. Gillespie 47, Private Christmas 36; total 468. Civilians—Mr G. Levens 53, Mr T. Edwards 52, Mr G. Richardson 48, Mr T. Sheen 4G. Mr J.. Taylor 3G, Mr W. Grant 36, Mr W. -H. Scott 34, Mr Scrimshaw 31, Mr Phillips 23; total 359. The final mutch for a shield presented byMr Bullock to the cadet corps in tho Ashburton County was fired on Friday afternoon. The Arhburton Borough School team gained tho shield, which will be held by the school for twelve months. Sergeant Church was the highest scorer, with 69. a-nd won a special prize., given by Mr H. M. Jolies. The Ashburton team scored 520 points, and HanipEtead 469.
