Chrises College and Otago Boys' High School was played to-day in a strong wind. Contrary to expectations, the match was by no means of a runaway kind as far as College was concerned, and the local forwards easily held their own. Mansell (2) and Crystall scored for College and Thomson for School. none of the tries being converted. College thus won by 9 points to 3. ASHBURTON RUGBY UNION. At the meeting of the Ashburton County Rugby Union held on Monday evening, the referee's report on the senior match. Hakater© v. Southern Cross, played on Thursday, was received stating that the Hakatere team had taken its defeat very badly and W. Pago, J. Mitchell and D. Brown had used insulting language after the match. It wasi resolved that Pago and Mitohell should be disqualified until August 31, 1908, and Brown until August 31, 1909. On Saturday the return match between the Cheviot Football Club and the Waiau Football_ Club was played on the Waiau Domain, the home team winning by 9 points to 4. For the winners tries were scored by Goodfellow, Stott and Kennedy, and J. M'Adam kicked a splendid goal for Cheviot. Mr C. F. Bull was referee. In the evening the visiting team was entertained by the local club at dinner and a smoke concert.
