ROAD BOARDS.

LITTLE RIVER. The ordinary meeting of the Littl* - River Road Board was held on July 16 ; present—Messrs Buchanan (chairman), Harris, Parkensou and Coop. IF ■was resolved that a foot bridge should bo erected over the creek to The Hatch in the Okute Valley. It was resolved that steps should be taken to acquire by compulsion or otherwise suitable quarry areas along tlx© main road, and to ascertain whether, after purchase, the Board could lease the areas to the.‘ previous owners at a nominal rent, for ninety-nine years, provided that tha Beard was not precluded from-obtain-ing road xnetal. It was decided that the road abutting on the Kaituna railway station should be foi'ixxed to th* width of a chain, and a branch road in the Okute‘Valley to Mr Scott’s lata land should h© formed. The .chairman moved that the proposed bridge in Western Valley at Fyke's lord should be proceeded , with at once. Plans shoukl he submitted to l the Akaroa County Council at its next meeting. The motion was seconded by Mr Parkinson and carried. Mr Coop proposed that a bridge should be erected on tha cross road from Western Valley, smith of the church, to the Main Road. Tha motion was seconded by the chairman and carried. It was resolved that tha lease for seven years of Reserve 35 * on tho Hill Road should he offered for, sale by auction at tile Little River sale on August 1. Accounts amount-, ing to £l2l 15s were passed for payment. The annual meeting of ratepayers was then held, Mr Buchanan presiding. The balance-sheet for th* yeax - was adopted, showing that th* receipts had been £2095 18s Id and tho expenditure £1958 14s.
