PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby, given that at 'a Special Meeting of the Christchurch City Council, held in tne City Council Chamber, Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, at 8.30 p.m. on (MONDAY, the 7Lh Day of January, 1907, a resolution was passed: That, in pursuance of the powers and au- ! thoritips vested in it by " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and Amendments, “ The Motor Regulation Act, 1006,” ‘and of all and each and every other power in that behalf enab.- ' ing it, the Christchurch City Council, acting on behalf of tne Mayor, Councillors and Citizens of the Cuy of Christchurch, and by Special Order, makes and ordains a By-law, the short title of e which shah be " The Christchurch City By-law No. 3,” making prov sion for t.ie good rule and government of the City of Christchurch, and containing provisions relating to and in respect of; Motor Gars and Motor Bicycles, and the driving and user thereof; Traction Engines, and the license fee payable in respect thereof; Public Billiard Rooms, and the hours during which the same shall bo closed; The Licensing of Refreshment Rooms; Buildings Fronting or Abutting on a right-of-way and the use thereof; Provision of Water Closets within those parts of the City served by sewers; Hackney Carriages, and the hire thereof; Regulations which may be made by the Council by resolution, pursuant to Section 403 of " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900.” and Section 16 yof “ The Municipal Corporations Amend- ■ meat Act, 1903 ”; Placards and Sky Signs and certain devices for advertising; Dangerous Goods and the issue of special licenses in respect of the [maximum quantity of kerosene that may be stored; 4 Setting back building line in certain specified streets in St Aibans Ward; ■ Theatres, Music Halls, etc., the prevention of over-crowding thereof and the safety and convenience of persons attending the same; The driving of two carls by one driver; The erection and' maintenance of sheds within the “ inner area ”; The penalties recoverable in respect of any • breach of the said By-law.
