The timber trade employees and tho butchers are seeking increases of wages and threaten to* strike. MELBOURNE, November 17. The area of the building strike is widening, and it is estimated that 2000 .men will bo affected. THE WELLINGTON STRIKE ENDED. [Per Press Association'.] ■WELLINGTON, November 17. The Kilbirnio tunnel trouble has been settled. The contractor has agreed to pay the timbering men 10s and tho miners 9s a day, and to concede tho hours asked for. Most of the men who went on strike have resumed work. THE DUNEDIN' TRAMWAYS. [Per Press Association - .] DUNEDIN, November 17. Mr Breen, secretary to the Tramways Union, explains that what was meant by “Trouble browing here,” in his telegram to tho secretary of the Auckland Union, was that the men consider themselves entitled to an eight hours’ day, according to the spirit of tho award, and that by tho now timetable the Corporation electric tram employees’ working hours vary up to 8J hours.
