THE NEW ZEALAND TEAM,

MATCH AGAINST QUEENSLAND. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received October 14, 10.22 a.m.) BRISBANE, October 13. In the bowling match New Zealand v. Queensland to-day, at Brisbane, the weather was fine and warm, and the attendance good. The green was in fair order. .The match was won by New Zealand by 184 to 168. The visitors were in good form, and opened strongly. On the fifth head they were eleven points ahead. Qn the tenth head the Queensland team held the visitor’s, who gained only one point. Scores —New Zealand 85, Queensland 73. The Queenslanders then began a forward move, and on the twentieth j head were thtee behind. Their oppo- j nents, however, checked their move, and gradually drew away. The winners were heartily congratulated. The visitors, to-night were entertained by the Queensland Association at dinner. The Christchurch Bowling Club was favoured with fine weather for the opening of its season on Saturday. There was a moderate attendance, and the usual match between the ■ teams selected by the president and vice-president respectively was soon got under way. The green was in excellent order and played very well, though in parts it was not as keen as could be desired. A very even game resulted ■in a wan for the vice-president’s team, the scores being 105 to 102.
