MARKET REPORTS.

HORSES. There was an entry of seventy-four horses at Tattorsall’s on Saturday, for which there was good demand. Unbroken draught® brought £25 to £39, broken £4O to £SO 10s, medium £3O to £36, spring-cart horses £26 to £35, best harness horses £lB to £23, medium £l3 to £l6, hacks £l2 to £ls. PIGS AND POULTRY. A medium entry of poultry met with a good sale. Prices'were:—Hens 3s to 4s, ducks 5s 7d to 7s, roosters 4s to 7s, turkey gobblers 2ds to 30s, geese 5s to 7s, pullets 4s to 6s 6d. ■ A good yarding of pig® sold well. Suckers and weanere made 10s to 16s, and stores 15s 6d to 255. LEESTON. There was a very good attendance at the Lees ton sale on Friday, but only a few buyers were operating, mostly butchers and graziers. About 500 head of all kinds of sheep were yarded, for which average prices were obtained. A good entry of store cattle came forward, but the quality was not up to the usual standard. Pigs, as usual} found a good yarding, and met a keen demand equal to last Addington nates. Prices were:—Sheep—10 cross-bred ewes at 17s 7d, 21 hoggets at 21s sd, 15 shorn cross-bred ewes at 11® sd, 52 hoggets at 16s Bd, 30 hoggets at 17s 9d, 16 fat cross-bred ewes at 17s lOd 12 fat cross-bred ewes at 15s 3d, 29 hoggets at 17s 7d, 2 fat cross-bred wethers at 21s. Cattle—Store yearlings 235, 15 to 18 months 30s to 40s, two year-old steers two-year-old heifers £2 9s to £2 13s, three-year-old steers £4 10s, three-year-old heifers £3 17e 6d, four-year-old steers £5 10s, dry cows 20s to £3 ss. Dairy cows sold up to £7. Ordinary fat steers made from £6 10s to £l2 10s, heifers £5 10s to £lO, cows £5 to £9. Pigs—Baconers .43s 6d to 555, one exceptional pen reaching 64e, equal to 4)d to 5d per lb; porkers 26s to 365, equal to 5d to sid per lb; stores 24s to 30s, medium 18s to 22s 6d, and weaners 12s to 17s. DARPIELD. At the Darfidd sal© on Friday there was an entry of about 1700 sheep and lambs, of which fats accounted for only 100, all merinoes. Hoggets formed the bulk of the yarding of stores, aged ewes with lambs and a few w©thens making up (the balance of the entry. There was only a medium attendance, and competition was dull for all classes, a good part of the yarding being passed at auction. Sales were mad© as follows : Fat merino wethers 16s sd, fat merino ewes 12s, cross-bred wethers (mixed acres) 17s Id, half-bred hoggets (mixed sexes) 15s 2d, cross-bred hoggets 14s 7d, aged cross-bred owes, with lambs Bs’9d (all counted), merino ewes, with lambs 6s 4d (all counted), mixed merino and cross-bred ewes (aged), with iambs, 5s (all counted). ASHBURTON PRODUCE MARKET. At the Ashburton produce market on Saturday there was a good attendance. The entry of pigs was largo, but the poultry pens were only moderately filled, and as a consequence prices were firmer. Prices were:—Poultry—Hens 3s 9d, roosters 3s to 6s 6d, ducks ss, all at per pair; turkeys 9s 6d each. Pigs —Suckers 7s to 10s, weaners 10s 6d to 12s 6cl, stores 13s to 17s 6d, porkers i 22s to 28s 6d, baconers 37s 6cl to 44b. Produce—Potatoes (good quality) 14s to 20s, inferior 5s to 10s, Derwent seed 10s 3d, all at per sack; seed potatoes, Up-to-dates, lid per lb ; Northern Star, 2d per lb; peas, 3s 6d per bushel; wheat, 9s 6d to 11s per sack; cats, 6s 6d to 7e per sack; onions, Is per string and Id per lb. LAND SALE. At the Leeston stock sale on Friday, Messrs Devereux, King and Co., in conjunction, with Messrs Neave .and Co., Ltd., sold Mrs A. Campbell’s farm of seventy acres, situated at Ellesmere, bo Mr O. 'Witbell, Brookside, the price id being £2B 10s per acre.
