A few inquiries for wheat have beeh mad© by merchants on the basis of the quotations given below,, but farmers are still disposed to hold out for a higher price. NORTH OTAGO. [From Our Oorresrondent.] OAMARU, October 12. Very little business has been done in the grain market during the week. There is some inquiry for milling wheat, but the views of sellers and buyers as to values differ, and business is restricted. A few sales of Velvet have been mad© in small lots at 3s lid and 3s . 2d at country stations; a line of 400 sacks was fallen at 3s 3|d f.o.b. Fowl wheat is in request, but there is very little available, and for a small parcel of broken 2s lid ex store was given.'
