; CHRISTCHURCH. Monday, May 14. (Before Air H. AV. Bishop, S.AI.) Drunkenness. — Thomas F. Grogan was fined 10s, in default forty-eight hours’ imprisonment, for having been drunk. .having been oiioe previously convicted. Vagrancy. —Gregor Al’Gregor, charged with being a rogue and a vagabond, having no visible means of support, and having been previously convicted as an idle 'and disorderly person, pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to twelve months’ imprisonment, with hard labour. Deserting Cabs.—Henry Richard Harris and Silas Knight, licensed cabmen, were charged with having failed to remain in immediate attendance upon their cabs. Mr C. B. Alassey, inspector for the City Council, prosecuted, and stated that the two cabs were standing unattended at the railway cabstand, apart from some other cabs, for ten minutes, on tho night of April 28. Defendants were fined 10s and costs each.
