• e CONFIRMATORY NEWS. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyi ight. MELBOURNE, January 2. Confirmation has boon received from Darwin of the massacre of Bradshaw and party. The launch was found on the beach, its contents smashed and covered with blood. A body was found near-by. It was unrecognisable, but was believed to be Bradshaw’s. A search party surrounded eight natives, two of them were captured, and the remainder escaped. The prisoners state that the launch was anchored near the. beach and two white .men landed. The natives speared them, and after dark the natives swam off to the launch, and in a desperate encounter murdered all on board. The whites shot two of their assailants.
