WEDNESDAY.; —Rotomahana arrives from Wellington, and leaves on return - trip. • Mokoia arrives from Dunedin, and leaves for Sydney, via east coast ports. The s.s. Waikare arrived yesterday from'' Wellington and east coast ports at 6.15 a.m.,’ •nd left for Dunedin at 11.50 a.m. The s.s. Mararoa arrived from Wellington . at 9.10 a.m. yesterday. .The schooner Falcon is to go on the slip for cleaning and painting on Thursday. The. s.s. Canopus left for. Westport at 12.25 а. yesterday. . Mr Hutchison, chief engineer of the Rofoiti, has been granted a mouth’s holiday . leave. Mr Seed, of the Wainui, relieves Mr Hutchison. The health officer at Napier, Dr de Lisle, ias had the barque Ivar Ansen thoroughly fumigated. , The men on board who are affected with beri-hori are progressing favourably, and the cases which were brought on shore to the hospital axe also (reports the “ Telegraph ”) doing well. Should it be found necessary to bring any more cases Ishore, and it thus be found that the ordinary accommodation at the hospital is being unduly trenched upon, arrangements will be made for treating all the cases in tents on an island in the inner harbour some 1 time ago acquired by the County Council and municipal Council to meet emergencies of the kind. Some creditably smart work was done in connection with the recent overhaul of the e.s. Canopus in the Lyttelton dock. The judder gudgeons were bored opt, one rudder Pintle and bushes for.all the pintles forged j end machined, and a number of small jobs done on the hull. The work of boring was begun on Friday morning, and everything was‘ finished and the vessel ready to be Posted out of the’dock on Saturday. The work was carried out by Messrs H.
