THE HOSIERY INDUSTRY. LONDON, December 16. The Tariff Commission, in the summarised evidence, shows, as regards hosiery, that practically all the witnesses dwell on the serious restriction, from less of foreign markets and the increasing competition in home, neutral and colonial markets, especially cotton hosiery. The manufacturers of fancy hosiery and underclothing state that they are holding their own in Australia.
