The ordinary number of the “Canterbury Times ” will this week be replaced by the Christmas number, and there will bo no extra charge for the magnificent production, which is a speei.nl preparation, both in regard to illustration and reading matter. The usual weekly features of the popular journal are not withheld to make room for the great amount of Christmas matter, though in the ordinary columns the more important subjects of the moment are given preference whore space is a consideration. The real charm of the beautiful number is in the wealth of its magnificent illustrations and the seasonable stories which have been procured from the very best of writers at great expense. The proprietors. of the “ Canterbury Times,” however, have every reason to believe that the immense outlay jncurved in the production of the Christmas Number will be justified by the large sale of copies!
