A DARING ROBBERY.

[Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, October 24. A daring robbery was committed tonight in Willis Street. At about seven o clook a man entered the shop <of Fruhalf and 00., pawnbrokers, and stole about £250 worth of jewellery. «Mr Fruha-lf was seated in a room, opening off the shop, reading,./and, hearing a movement, walked into the shop mst in time to eeo a young man leave hurriedly. Mr Fruhalf, not knowing of his loss, walked after the man, who bolted into the Empire Hotel. Returning to the shop, Mr Fruhalf found that a clean sweep had been made of chains, etc., from his window. Meanwhile the robber had passed through the hotel into ISctoria Street, dropping a watch on the way, and. followed by two men, made good Iris escape. The thief must have entered the Shop, climbed over the counter and gained access to the window by a small door, which was not provided with a lock.
