Bishop, S.M., heard a case at ~ the*? f Magistrate’s Court yesterday in. winch Herbert Donald Jarvis (Mr Kirk) pleaded not guilty to a charge of knowingly and wilfully making a falsa declaration, for the purpose of procuring a Registrar’s; certificate, under the Marriage Act, 1904. - L. Williams, Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages, gave evidence that there was an entry of marriage, number 637, on October 9, 1905, in tho name of Herbert Donald Jarvis, who f described himself as a-bachelor; twenty- 1 four years of age, occupation sign*. )writer, and a resident of Christchurch for three yeax-s. He had stated that there was no impediment of kindred or alliance, or other lawful hindrance, to. prevent his being united in marriage with the person named in the declaration. On May 30, 1904, there was au entry, number 344, wherein Herbert .
