PERSONAL.
The Rev Staples Hamilton (Geraldine) was a passenger by the second express train for the south yesterday. Mr Bignell, Mayor of Wanganm, was in Christchurch yesterday. He called on Mr C. M. Gray, Mayor of Christchurch, prior to leaving for the south to attend a conference of builders. Mr J. F. Hartland, of Christchurcn, was appointed secretary of the Auckland Racing Club at a special meeting of the committee held yesterday. He will take up the duties in time for the spring meeting. Air G. Laurenson, AI.H.R., left for Wellington by the s.s. Pateena last evening.
