' A Navy League wreath was placed on the pedestal of the Nelson Column in memory of the French and Spanish sailors who fell at '’■'Trafalgar. The Anglo-French entente was acclaimed at many dinners. The Victory’s officers drank in silence to “ The Memory of Those who Fell in 1805, Friend or Foe.” The “ Marseillaise ” was received with cheers at Cape, Town. Admiral Seymour and Captain Mahan were guests at, a Briton’s dinner at Boston. The Bishop of Stepney preached an impressive Nelson service at St Haul’s. Representatives of the King and Queen and Prince and Princess of Wales, the Lord Mayor, and sheriffs and foreign naval attaches were present.
