Gesler Rousseau declared that he had spent years over a contrivance which was intended to deter the larger nations from intimidating the smaller. The Recorder declared that a penalty of five years was a wholly inadequate sentence. He postponed sentence indefinitely to inquire into Rosseau's mental condition. .'•
(Rousseau recently attempted to destroy the statue of Frederick the Great, which was presented by the Kaiser to the United States.)
