OXFORD ROAD BOARD

TO TU» XBITOn. g: r I should like, through the medium’of vour valuable paper, to draw the Attention of the Oxford Road Board S the disgraceful state of the Gorman Road Eart Oxford. Some time ago the r ,Ud was covered with loose shingle boulders, some of which were broken 'by the Board’s labourers. Since then nothing whatever has been done to the road in ffio. way of repair or filling in the ruts, much to the discomfort of persons driving The result is that the road down to the second culvert is i'n a very ragged and neglected state. As a good deal of traffic passes up and down, this road demands more attention from the Board than it gets. The ruts are so bad in places as to cause the upsetting of the creamery suppliers milk-cans on their daily journeys to and from the creamery, to say nothing of the risk of the snapping of axles. I feel sure that if the clerk of the Board had to make a trip up and down the same road twice a day ho would see that it is kept in much better repair. Trusting the Board will see its way clear to do. something for the settlers and travelling public.—l am, etc.. RESIDENT.
