Talune arrives from Dunedin/and leaves for "Wellington and east -coast ports. Koonya arrives from Timaru. Oamaru and Dunedin, and leaves for Wellington, Westport and Greymouth. The s.s. Warrimoo, from Sydney, via Wellington, was berthed at No. 3 wharf at 7.10 a-m. yesterday. She left Sydney on March 25, arrived at Wellington on March. 29, and left again on Thursday, at 5.33 p.m.' Experienced rainy weather, with moderate seas, throughout the voyage. The b.s. , Rotomahana arrived from Wellington at 8.35 a.m. yesterday. 'The s.s. Monowai, from Melbourne via southern ports, was berthed at No. 2 jetty at 7.40 a.m. yesterday. She left Melbourne on Wednesday, March 22, arrived at the Bluff on Monday last, and left the same day for Dunedita. She left Port Chalmers for Lyttelton at 4.50 p.m. on Thursday. Her passage was uneventful. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s s.s. -Whakatan’e, from West of England porta via Australia, Auckland and Wellington, entered within the moles at 10.30 a.m. yesterday, and was berthed at No. 6 wharf to discharge 687 tons of cargo. She left Liverpool on January 12. Adelaide on March 2, Melbourne on. March 8 and Sydney on March 15, arriving m this colony at Auckland on March 20. She proceeded thence to Wellington, which port she left for Lyttelton at 4 p.m., on Thursday. Captain L. Silba is still in command, and has the following officers:—Chief officer, Mr S. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s s.s. fongariro is expected to return from Timaru to-morrow, to take cargo for London. The s.s. Toroa is to leave for the Chatham -elands to-night. She is to call at all the (jorts in the islands. The s.s. Wakatu is to leave on a. special trip to Kaikoura to-morrow evening. The Huddart-Parker Company’s s.s. Victoria ifc to arrive this morning from Sydney, via Vast coast ports, and to leave this afternoon for Dunedin.

Tiie Union Steamship Company’s . s.s. Wanaka is to leave to-day for the Bluff to load produce for northern ports. An order for the suppjy of, 300 tons of rivets per week, extending over 'a period of three years, has been given by the British Admiralty to the River and Colt Company ■Limited), of Coatbridge, Scotland. The rivets ire to bo delivered at the various dockyards. The Monowai left for Sydney via "Wellington at 4.55 last evening, the "Warrimoo for Melbourne via southern ports at 5, and tho Roiomahana for Wellington at 6.15. Mr E. O. Schmidt, of the island of Erro.n&nga. New Hebrides, recently handed to Captain "Wetherall, of the steamer Tambo, a Washington Bureau, U.S., current paper, r.hich he picked up at Polonia Bay on April •- The paper had been thrown over from dn? ship Drurccraig on June 5, 1002. off the ronth coast cf New Caledonia. The bottle in that time drifted 52G miles in a. north-easterly direction. Tho Drumcraig was in Sydney when the Tambo arrived there, ° and the paper was handed to her captain. Mr H White-Parsons, chief officer of the i.b. Kini. who is about to he married, has left for Melbourne on holiday leave. Mr H. Fletcher, late third officer of the s.s. The Wellington “ Post ” states the Shaw, Savill liner Athenio takes a large quantity of butter, totalling in all about 28,461 packages, for London, shipped from the following ports;—Auckland, 3953 boxes and 7 kegs; New Plymouth, 9510 boxes; Patca, 5080 boxes; Wellington, 6984 boxes; Lyttelton, 1902 boxes; Otago and Bluff, 125 boxes. She also carried 40-34 cases cheese.

The s.s. Laugton Grange, which arrived at Melbourne on March 24 from Cape Town, has tho last consignment of cargo for transhipment to New Zealand ex the s.s. Buteshire, from New York. j-uo cargo of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s s.s. Kumara, from Liverpool, is about 4950 tons. It comprises 1500 tons for discharge at Auckland, 1700 tons for Wellington, ,750 tons for Lyttelton, and 1000 ions for Port Chalmers. The Kumara is expected to leave Auckland for Wellington on Tuesday next. The now coastal auxiliary scow, the Echo, was recently launched at To Kppuru for the Duneuin-Kaiparu, trade. Tho "Wellington “ Post” says that a total of 2vt passengers had booked for London by the Shaw-S.ivill steamer Athenic uo to Wednesday morning. One of a party of Alasterton cyclists who cycled down to the Lower Perry recently has informed the AVairarapa "Leader” that it will be some time before preparations are completed for shifting the sailing ship Acidemia, which, was driven ashore there last year. It was tho intention to tow down the river the sledges upon which the ship k to bo placed, but tins scheme is said to navo been found impracticable, and (ho land rafts are now being conveyed to the shore by bullock waggons. .Fully one hundred sledges have been landed at their temporary destimaticn. Tho Addenda now lies further up on tno beach, and is more upright than formerly, but she still has a starboard list. The vessel does not appear to have been further knocked about. Tffie Shew, Savi.l and Albion Company's s.s. lonic, which loft Wellington for London on March 2, left H:o in continuation of her homeward voyage last' Monday evening. The Kormo, whose departure for Lvttoltou was announced by a London cable message, is an iron ' ship of 1613 tons gross and 1576 ions net register. She flies Norwegian colours, being owned by O. G. Gjeasen, of Skudesnoes, but is British built, having been launched from tho yard of A. Stephen and Sons, Glasgow, in ISSS. The Tyscr s.s. Tcmoana is expected to leave London on April 27 for Melbourne, Sydney and New Zealand porta. The British barque Earnmount, 1869 tons register, has been sold by William Hamilton and Co., of Glasgow, to R. Thomas and Co., of Liverpool, for £IO,OOO. Tho British ship Crown of England, 1724 tons register, has been sold by J. and R. Young and Co. to Norwegians for about £SOOO. A very smart discharge (savs the Svdney Commercial News”) was effected at Algoa recently. The G.-A. Company’s Essen, which arrived there from Antwerp on February 19, bought with , her a general cargo -of 350 tons. Next day discharging operations were comnvenccd, and so assiduously carried out, that within a little over four hours tho cargo was discharged, -and in the evening the Essen left for Australia. The “Otago Daily Times” states that the Invercargill, which grounded at tho Bluff iu consequence -of the absence of the lightship, has been surveyed in the Port Chalmers graving dock, and is to receive two new plates to her hull and other repairs. Tho vessel should be ready .to resume work by the end of tho week. The Sydney “Commercial News” states that Messrs E. D. Pike and Co. recently cleared- the British ship Iquique, for East London, with 41,261 sleepers, equal to 8175 tons dead-weight.
