Senator John T. Morgan, of Alabama, has introduced a Bill in the United States Senate to annex Panama, and compensate Panama and Colombia with ten million dollars and a million and a half dollars respectively, and to devote forty million dollars to the purchase of, the canal property. ■ , The Legislative Council of Pretoria, without a division, read the Labour Importation Bill a second time. The “Standard’s” Tokio correspondent states that the Czar's words to Count Kurino, the Jananeso Ambassador at St Petersburg, were not so entirely pacific and satisfactory as has been represented in Europe.
