RICCARTON CORONATION MEMORIAL.

The final meeting of the Riccarton Coronation Celebration Committee was held in the Library, on Friday; present—Mr S. A. Staples (chairman), the Rev T. P. Winter, and Messrs J. E. Hanson, Hack, Goodwin, Seville, Hodgkinson, C. Marsh, R. Blake, Hulson, Raxworthey and H. English (honorary secretary). After some business of a routine character had been transacted, the following motions were passed: —Proposed by Mr J. E. Hanson, and seconded by/Mr T. Raxworthey—“That a hearty vote of thanks be accorded to the Christchurch Meat Company, for their splendid generosity in providing'and erecting, free of cost, the handsome tubular fence enclosing the Coronation oak and tablet.” Proposed by Air Hulson, and seconded by Mr 11. Saville—“ That a hearty vote of thanks be accorded to the Ladies’ Committee, for the excellent manner in which they carried out their arduous duties in providing the tea for the children, and also for the able manner in which they assisted the Main Com’mitteo with funds.” After all outstanding accounts'had been passed for payment, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the Library Committee, for placing its room at the disposal of the committee for meetings. A vote of thanks was passed to the executive officers. The Chairman thanked the various members of the sub-committees for the maimer in which they had worked to ensure the complete success of the function. The committee then dissolved.
