A SERIOUS CHARGE.

NEW PLYMOUTH, Dec. 13.
At the Police Court, this morning, a young man, named Walter Smith, was charged with setting fire to a tent, the property of George Inge 4 at Moturoa, and with inflicting bodily harm on Inge. A ■week’s remand was granted. It appeared that Inge was sleeping- in' his tent, which somehow caught fire, burning him severely, and he is now in the hospital in a serious condition.
