THEATRE ROYAL.
The Majeroni Dramatic Company gave their second ohange of programme at the Theatre Royal last night, when "Enlisted, or the Chain Gang" was staged for thefirst timo in Christchurch. The house was filled with a holiday audience that was determined to enjoy itself, and succeeded in doing so 'admirably. The piece was a melodrama of the most pronounced type, and was well staged and capably rendered. Mr George Majeroni made a dignified hero, and Mr J. B. Fitzgerald's heavy father, Mr Mario Majeroni's villain, and'Mr Phil Walshe's rather slender part were all admirably done. * Miss Hilda Meade's pourtrayal of the heroine was capable and sympathetic, and Miss Nellie Ogden, as the hero's sister, was fairly successful. The low comedy was entrusted to Miss May Kenno and Messrs S. Adson and P. A. Savieri, who kept the audience in roars of laughter, To-night, which is the last of the season, "Enlisted" will be staged again.
