The Christ's College sports will be held to-day. The track is in good condition, and tlie phenomenal entries received ought to provide an attractive day's entertainment. The annual sports of the Cantrbury Yeomanry Cavalry will be held at the Show Gro-tmds on Saturday next, beginning at two o'clock. The Garrison Band will be in attendance. A drag will leave the Caledonian Society's Booms at two o'clock afternoon, for the convenience of •m..euTbe<rs desirous of attending the funeral of Mr George Ferguson. A monster Labour Day Demonstration entertainment will be held, by special arrangement with Dix's Gaiety Company Mid the Trades Council, on Fridav, Oct. 17. So successful have tho Alexandra Hall missions been, that it is intended to hold special meetings every Thursday, a'fc 7.30) p.m., and every Saturday, at 7.15 a.m. and 7 p.m.
