ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
DROWNED. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Oopyrigiht. SUVA, Oct. 8. Vincent Sime, purser of the Kiaoray was drowned ia Suva Harbour. [Per Pkess Association - .] THAMES, Oct. 8. ; Lawrence Houghton lies in a critical condition in the Thames Hospital, the result of lai fall from a vehicle. A wheel passed over his chest, crushing his ribs, and he received internal injuries, and wounds' in the back. He is expected to recover, but his condition is serious. AUCKLAND,- Oct. 8. At the inquest on Lawrence Galder, the late keeper of the fresh water baths; Dr De Olive Lowe stated that the lungs of the deceased were those of a person who had nob been drowned, and, in his opinion deceased met his death, before falling into the water. The cause of death waa fotty degeneration of .the heart and valvular disease. A vei-dict of -death from natural causes was returned.
