CANTERBURY CRICKET ASSOCIATION. The committee of the Canterbury Cricket Association met last- night at Warner's Hotel ; present—Messrs H. D. Carter (in the chair), F. C. Raphael, R. Vincent, 0. Cayigill, J. D. Lawrence, C W. Garrard, T. W. Beese and j. H. Williams (ban secretary). An apology was received for the absence of the president (Mr A. E. G. Rhodes). The election of a Competitions Committee resulted in the return of Messrs C. W. Garrard, T. W. Reese, R. Vincent, O. Caygill and J. H. Williams. An application from the Linwood Cricket Club for affiliation was granted. The secretary reported' that at the annual meeting of the Association, a) motion had been carried affirming the- desirableness of playing the match between Lord Hawke's team and the Canterbury representatives at Hagley Park. After a lengthy discussion it was resolved, on tie motion of Mr Raphael, to ask the Lancaster Park Company what its terms would be for the match, "it was resolved that unless the members of the Albion Cricket Club paid up their arrears of subscriptions and fines, the Sports Protection Association should be' a.sked to deal with them. On lid motion of Mr Reese, it was resolved that the secretary should be instructed to try to arrange the annual interprovincial match with Wellington for Dec. 26, 27 and 29. Entries for all Cup Competitions under the auspices of the Canterbury Cricket As-> soeiation will close to-morrow with the secretarv (Mr J. H. Williams), at No. 213, Gloucester Street. Cup matches will begin at 2.15 p.m. on Oct. 11.
