4 * — CHRISTCHUHCH GOLF CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP. The final for the championship of the Christchurch Golf Club was played on Shirley links on Saturday 'between C. K. Sains and" K. L. Kitto, whose, contest had beera. several times postponed. The game resulted in a win, for Kitto by four holes, -with ithree holes to play. The course was thirty-six holes, one half of the course being played in the morning, and the other in- the afternoon. 'Kitto was 'four to the good at the eighth hole, but by the time the fourteenth hole was reached l , Sams was "like" with his oppenent. Kitto, however, won the remaining four holes of the eighteen. There was better pjay on both sides in the afternoon, Sams' showing specially nrarked improvement, more particularly in putting. At the seventh hole he had' won two of the holes covez-ed, Kitto halving the other five with him, but the next three holes fell to Kitto, and the latter's nlay was so good that, when the 'twenty-eighth hole was reached, he was five up, with eight to play. 'Sams, however, won the next three holes, and at the Land's End hole was only two 'behind his opponent.
