[Per Press Association.] BLENHEIM, Sept, 27. At present the weather is exceptionally severe. It is said that snow has fallen on country in this district where it has not been seen within the last fifty years. GREYMOUTH, Sept. 27. The weather has cleared up, hut it is intensely cold, and there is a large quantity of snow on the hills. REEFTON, Sept. 27. The weather has cleared. Victoria Range is covered with four feet of snow. All work has been suspended, probably for some weeks. 'A strong south-west wind, accompanied by snow, blew in the ‘Mount Hutt district on Friday. The storm was the worst experienced this winter, and must prove severe on all kinds of stock. Lambing, though general on the plains, has not yet commenced on the hill stations. Through the shortness of feed there is a scarcity of fat stock, in the district.
