(Received Sept. 2, 9.49 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 2. There was a terrible eruption of Mont Pelee on Saturday night. The detonation was the loudest yet heard. The village of Morno Rougo was entirely destroyed. A tidal wave overwhelmed the village of Le Carbet, drowning 200 persons. The crater is now quiet. .
