PRESENTATIONS.

The members of the Canterbury Representative Junior Team, before leaving Dunedin yesterday, met and made Mr Hiddlestone, the manager of the team, a present of a handsome case of pipes. Mr F. Howavth, in making the presentation, referred to the way in which Mr Hiddlestone had treated the team during the trip, and thanked him on behalf of the team. ' Mr Hiddlestone thanked them for their kind presentation, and after cheers had been given for Mr and Mrs Hiddlestone, the tcanv left, on the return journey. The Timaru Fire Brigade held a social supped and smoke concert on Monday evening, at which Dr C. E. Thomas, honorary surgeon to the'Brigade, was presented with a framed and inscribed photograph of an ambulance class of the members, whom h© has instructed in ambulance work so 'efficiently that they all passed'an examination by Dr Hogg with credit. The gathering was abruptly broken up at 10.40 by anl alarm of fire, and as the meeting was being held in a mom at. the. Brigade Station the turn-out- was a record for celerity.
