PRESENTATIONS.
.On Tuesday evening last a very pleasant gathering took place in the storeroom of Messrs Aulse.brook and Co., when Mr Craws.haw, the firm's manager, presented Miss Marie Curtin, -who is about to be married, with a purse of sovereigns on behalf of the employees. Mr B, E. M'Dougall, the proprietor, in -whose employ Miss Curtin has been for the past thirteen years, presented her with a cheque. On Saturday morning a presentation was made by the Customs officers of Lyttelton and Christchurch to Mr Thomas Bacon, who has retired on pension after forty-two years' service in the Department. The presentation took place in the Custom House, Lyttelton. Mr T. A. Murphy, tide surveyor for the Port, made a very effective little speech, and presented Mr Bacon with a handsome armchair upholstered in dark green velvet pile. Mr Bacon heartily thanked his friends for their kind gift. His health was proposed by Mr Murphy and drunk with due honours.
At the Chester Street Fire Brigade Station on Saturday, Mrs Henderson, who is retiring from the position of caretaker, was presented with a jewel-case by the members, as a token of esteem, and in recognition of the thorough manner in which she had performed her duties.
