SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
A meeting of the Halswell School. Com-* mittee was held on Thursday evening, Mr F: W. Quaife 'in the chair. The master's report showed that the average attendance had (increased during the last quasber.; The inspector's report was received. It, contained congratulatory remarks on €ha efficiency of the school. It was decided to close the school for five weeks' Christanaß holidays. ;','■.
