CURRENT NOTICES.
A welcome meeting in connection with the Sydenham Gospel Mission will be given to Mr and Mrs N. Turner on Sunday. On Tuesday evening.there will be a welcome " social" and public meeting. A concert will be given this evening in the East Belt Methodist Schoolroom.
A meeting of members of the Templeton Farmers' Union will be held in the library at the township at 8 p.m. • on Friday. A meeting of the Waitohi .Gorge Kifle Club will be held at Hawarden at 8 p.m. on Saturday. .. A paper on " Culture " will be given by Mr A. Cant at a meeting of the Christclmrch Chrysanthemum Society, in the City Hall on Friday, at 8 p.m. Oct. 9 will be observed as a special bank holiday at Eangiora. There will be a rehearsal of the Christchurch Diocesan Choral'Association this evening, at the Cathedral. ■, The annual Salvation Army sale of work will be held to-night, in the Victoria Street Hall, at eight o'clock. The stalls are' well filled and the barracks decorated.
