In announcing the award of the Compensation Court, in the Forest Gate ca,-e, yesterday Mr Justice Edwards said that under ordinary circumstances the offer of the claimants to sell at £'i 10s would, in his opinion, properly be taken as a prima, facie fixing the value of the estate as not, exceeding that sum, but it appeared from .evidence and was not disputed by the respondents' that the reason which, actuated the cHmahts in making the offer was that they had an opportunity of purchasing another estate on very advantageous terms. The Government 'refused to purchase at the price named, and the Irustees of. he lorest {,. , f si - l: {e were thus prevented from .dealing other property. Costs totalling £SOO were awarded.
